Job summary

Neighborhood Health Center in Portland, OR seeks a Spanish-speaking Dental Receptionist to join our patient-centered dental team. You will provide welcoming front-desk service, schedule appointments, collect demographics and insurance data, and support patients in navigating EPIC Wisdom.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year of fast-paced customer service experience.
  • Epic or EHR experience preferred.
  • Spanish fluency required.
  • Basic knowledge of dental terminology preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality per HIPAA.

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes patients and visitors in person or virtually and answers inquiries with a friendly demeanor.
  • Gathers visit reason, schedules appointments, and records demographic and financial information in EPIC Wisdom.
  • Processes co-payments and reconciles daily deposits.
  • Scrubs schedules and patient charts for missing information at check-in.
  • Confirms insurance eligibility and coverage information.
  • Scans and indexes documents into medical records per policy.
  • Assists in new employee training and works collaboratively in a team.

The Dental Receptionist will perform front office responsibilities related to delivering quality patient care in a clinical setting and the ability to support patients in need of assistance (filling out paperwork, etc.).
