Overview

Dental Office Front Desk Representative (Business Assistant) at St. Paul Oral Surgery in St. Paul, MN.

Heartland Dental supports non-clinical administrative services to dental offices and emphasizes teamwork, patient-first care, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and welcome patients as they enter the office to create a positive first impression
  • Manage front office duties, including answering phones, checking mail and email, and communicating with patients and insurance companies
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and records
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers
  • File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verify benefits and explain coverage
  • Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivable
  • Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients
  • Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday with early start times
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Access to minimum PHI; HIPAA training required; protect PHI and maintain data safeguards
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Experience
  • 1+ years in a dental or medical setting
  • 1+ years with insurance billing and accounts receivable
  • Dentrix or other dental software experience
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform essential duties with/without reasonable accommodation
  • Prolonged sitting at a desk and computer work
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Occasional virtual or in-person training sessions
  • TB test required for new hires in dental offices (excluding FL & TN)
