Job summary

Dental Depot is seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist to provide preventive and periodontal care, assess oral health, and educate patients. You will perform radiographs, apply sealants/fluoride, and administer local anesthesia or nitrous oxide as permitted and directed by the Dentist.

Essential duties include charting, maintaining infection-control standards, and supporting recall while traveling to other clinics as needed. AAS/BS in Dental Hygiene and current license are required.

Qualifications

• AAS or BS in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
• Current dental hygiene license and CPR certification.
• Ability to administer nitrous oxide and/or local anesthesia when authorized.
• Working knowledge of dental software; Eaglesoft experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Valid driver's license, proof of vehicle insurance, and annual MVR check for company travel.
• Hepatitis B vaccination acceptance or declination form within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform prophylaxis, periodontal scaling and other preventive care.
• Review medical histories; assess oral cavity, gingiva, and periodontal tissues.
• Complete periodontal probing and charting for dentist planning.
• Expose periapical, bitewing, and panoramic radiographs.
• Provide patient education and apply fluoride or sealants as appropriate.
• Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide when authorized.
• Perform expanded duties like removing cement, sutures, or temporary restorations; take whitening impressions.
• Maintain instruments, equipment, operatories, and sterilization areas per standards.
• Support patient recall and continuity of care.
• Follow policies and OSHA/HIPAA requirements; participate in turnover and sterilization activities.

Position SummaryProvide preventive and periodontal dental hygiene care, assess oral health, obtain diagnostic radiographs, educate patients, and perform authorized adjunctive procedures, including fluoride, sealants, local anesthesia, and nitrous oxide as permitted and directed by the Dentist.Essential FunctionsThe Dental Hygienist must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
