Job summary

Dentistry By Design in Tucson, AZ is hiring a part-time Registered Dental Hygienist to join a patient-centered team. You will perform cleanings, educate patients, and support preventive care in a modern clinic.

Minimal schedule includes 3 days per week with 8-hour shifts. AR RDH license, CPR, and X-ray certification are required; entry-level candidates are welcome, with a competitive hourly rate of $50–$55 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Dental Hygienist license in Arizona.
• Associate’s degree in dental hygiene (required).
• CPR and Hepatitis B vaccination are required.
• Ability to administer local anesthetics and operate dental x-ray equipment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong customer service mindset and team-oriented attitude.
• Entry-level candidates and recent grads are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Perform dental cleanings, including removing deposits and stains.
• Examine patients for signs of oral disease and conduct cancer screenings.
• Review and document patients’ medical histories.
• Record dental decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain a safe operatory.
• Educate and motivate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Collaborate with the dentist for treatment planning and coordination.
• Maintain a regular patient dental hygiene regimen.

Requirements

Job Description

• Perform dental cleanings, including removing accretions, calcareous deposits, and stains
• Examine patients for signs of oral disease, including oral cancer screenings by checking lymph nodes
• Review and document patients’ medical histories
• Record dental decay and disease for dentist diagnosis and treatment planning
• Sharpen and sterilize dental instruments to maintain a safe and hygienic operatory
• Educate and motivate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care
• Collaborate closely with the dentist for treatment planning and coordination
• Maintain a regular patient dental hygiene regimen
