Job summary

Prairie Dental Care in Aurora, Illinois is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Dental Hygienist for weekend shifts (Saturdays 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM; 2-3 Saturdays per month). Compensation ranges from $45 to $50 per hour, with patient-focused preventive care and orthodontic support as part of a warm team environment.

The ideal candidate will have an active Illinois hygienist license, X-ray certification, CPR/BLS, and experience with Eaglesoft; local anesthesia and nitrous oxide certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois hygiene license and up-to-date CPR/BLS certifications.
• X-ray/radiography certification required for this role.
• Local anesthesia and nitrous oxide certifications preferred.
• Infection control training and OSHA compliance mandatory.
• Experience with expanded functions dental hygiene is a plus.
• Familiarity with Eaglesoft practice software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine dental cleanings, periodontal scaling, and polishing.
• Take and interpret dental X-rays and report findings to the dentist.
• Assess patient oral health and communicate recommendations to patients.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Apply sealants and fluoride treatments as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and scheduling.
• Adhere to infection control, sterilization, and OSHA protocols.
• Ensure patient comfort and build positive relationships.
