The candidate must graduate from an ADA-accredited dental hygiene program, be Virginia-licensed, and hold AHA BLS-HCP certification. Strong communication skills and CE commitment are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ADA-accredited school of dental hygiene required.
• Must be licensed to practice dental hygiene in Virginia.
• AHA BLS-HCP required.
• Ability to complete continuing education requirements in dentistry and care of special populations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate patient's oral health and hygiene status, performs necessary x-rays, panelipse, periodontal evaluation, and prophylaxis procedures.
• Maintains responsibility for the care and safety of patients during treatment.
• Provides necessary oral hygiene instruction with patient or caretaker, and maintains follow-up.
• Follows guidelines in policy and procedure manual for safe sterilization and cleaning of dental operatories.
• Assists other dental team members as needed with delivery of patient care.
