Job summary

Wiregrass Family Dental Care in Wesley Chapel, FL is seeking a collaborative, experienced Dental Hygienist to join our 22-member team in a state-of-the-art facility. Schedule is Monday-Thursday, 7:30am-5:00pm, with focus on comprehensive preventive care and patient education.

You’ll work in a supportive Heartland Dental network offering mentorship, continuing education and a suite of benefits to enhance your clinical growth and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current Florida dental hygienist license and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene.
• Local Anesthesia Certification.
• Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, patient screening and medical history documentation.
• CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide 60-minute prophys, recare and perio maintenance.
• Perform 60-minute SRPs.
• Conduct 90-minute new patient appointments.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday from 7:30am-5:00pm

Patient Schedule

• 60 minute prophys, recare, and perio maintenance
• 60 minute SRPs
• 90 min New Patient Appointments

Minimum Qualifications

• Current dental hygienist license in Florida and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene (where required)
• Local Anesthesia Certification
• Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
• CPR Certification

Preferred Experience

• 2-3 years of Dental Hygiene experience required
• Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays and electronic medical record systems
• Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients’ dental health
• Clinical needs as required by office

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform essential duties as deemed necessary by the Office/ Doctor/ Heartland Dental with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the position
• Prolonged periods sitting and standing
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
• Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person)periodically throughout the year
• As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for both team members and patients, a tuberculosis (TB) test is required for all new hires in dental office positions. This is a standard requirement for dental office roles and must be completed prior to starting employment. The test will be arranged during the pre-employment process, and any necessary guidance or paperwork will be provided. Not applicable in the state of FL & TN.
