Job summary

The Providence Community Health Centers, Inc. is seeking a Dental Hygienist to assess and deliver direct dental care in Providence, RI. You will follow established hygiene protocols and contribute to patient education and care planning.

Required are a dental hygiene degree, Rhode Island licensure, and an active Local Anesthesia license. At least one year in a community ambulatory clinic with public health emphasis is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Dental Hygiene.
• Active Local Anesthesia Licensure.
• Current licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the state of Rhode Island.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a community ambulatory dental clinic environment emphasizing Public Health strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess dental condition and needs of patient; uses medical history review, dental charting, and periodontal charting; takes patient vital signs as required.
• Deliver direct patient care to patients as assigned, using established dental hygienist procedures; performs routine treatment procedures, such as cleaning, polishing, x-rays, application of sealants and fluorides, and related procedures.
• Develop and implements individualized dental care plans for patients; performs patient education, discharge planning, and patient/family teaching under the supervision of a qualified dentist.

Assess, plan and deliver direct dental care and associated services to dental patients, utilizing PCHC established dental hygiene protocol and procedures.

Education:
