Job summary

Smile Design Toledo Blade is seeking a passionate Dental Hygienist to join our team, offering a Monday through Thursday 7:45 AM–4:00 PM schedule and a Friday 7:45 AM–2:00 PM shift. You’ll be an essential member of a supportive team dedicated to exceptional patient care and education on oral health, helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles.

Qualifications

• Current Florida dental hygienist license and degree in dental hygiene.
• CPR Certification is required.
• Experience with Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanners, digital x-rays, and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on oral health and preventative care.
• Build relationships with patients and deliver high-quality dental hygiene services.
• Provide preventative dental hygiene care and support to the team.

Schedule

Minimum Qualifications

• Current dental hygienist license in Florida and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene (where required)
• Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
• CPR Certification

Preferred Experience

• New graduates and seasoned hygienists are both welcome!
• Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays and electronic medical record systems
• Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients’ dental health
• Clinical needs as required by office

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform essential duties as deemed necessary by the Office/ Doctor/ Heartland Dental with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the position
• Prolonged periods sitting and standing
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
• Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person)periodically throughout the year
• As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for both team members and patients, a tuberculosis (TB) test is required for all new hires in dental office positions. This is a standard requirement for dental office roles and must be completed prior to starting employment. The test will be arranged during the pre-employment process, and any necessary guidance or paperwork will be provided. Not applicable in the state of FL & TN.
