Job summary

Jericho Road Community Health Center in Buffalo, NY is seeking a part-time Dental Hygienist to join the Dental Department at our 1021 Broadway location. Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygienist Program.
• Licensure to practice as a dental hygienist issued by the New York State Department of Education.
• At least one year experience in a dental office; new grads welcome; anesthetic certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient screening procedures and review health history.
• Remove calculus and plaque from all surfaces of the teeth.
• Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluorides.
• Sterilize dental instruments and tools.
• Instruct patients on proper dental hygiene and care.
• Take and develop dental X-rays per dentist's guidance.
• Meet quality and patient care standards established by management.
• Assist in patient recruitment and growth of the clinic.
• Document and maintain patient history and chart conditions.
• Attend continuing education to maintain certification.

DENTAL HYGIENIST

Jericho Road Community Health Center is actively seeking a Dental Hygienist. This position is a part-time, within the Dental Department, working at our 1021 Broadway location.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient screening procedures, such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of the health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting and taking blood pressure
• Removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth
• Applying preventive materials to the teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides)
• Sterilize dental instruments and tools
• Instruct patients of all ages on proper dental hygiene and care
• Take X-rays of patients' teeth and develop them for dentist's use
• Regularly and consistently meet quality and patient care standards established by management.
• Assist in patient recruitment and growth of clinic
• Performing documentation and establishing and maintaining patients' history
• Chart dental conditions based on dentist's observations and evaluations
• Attend continuing education classes to maintain certification requirements
• Conduct department activities and responsibilities as assigned by the dental director, including administrative and front office support, regulatory checklists and supply ordering

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygienist Program
• Possession of licensure to practice as a dental hygienist issued by the New York State Department of Education.
• At least one year experience in a dental office as a dental hygienist preferred but not mandatory
• New Grads welcome to apply
• Anesthetic certification preferred

Rate:$34.00-$38.00 an hour. Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other position related components.
