Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
• Current Tennessee Dental Hygienist license.
• CPR and local anesthesia certifications preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience; new grads encouraged.
• Proficiency with dental software and digital imaging systems.
• Strong communication skills and patient-focused mindset.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings including scaling, root planing, and polishing.
• Conduct oral health assessments and screen for periodontal disease and other conditions.
• Take and develop dental X-rays as needed.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Apply sealants and fluoride treatments.
• Maintain patient records and update treatment plans in the EHR.
• Sterilize instruments and ensure infection control.
• Assist dentists during procedures and provide chairside support.
• Build strong patient relationships to encourage regular visits.

Tennessee Family Dental is a leading dental practice in the Nashville area, committed to providing advanced, aesthetic, and affordable dental care. Our Brentwood office focuses on creating healthy smiles in a welcoming environment, serving patients of all ages with comprehensive services including preventive care, cosmetic dentistry, and more. We see both insurance, cash and TennCare patients (mostly adults). We pride ourselves on our patient-centered approach and state-of-the-art technology.

Pay

• $35 - $48 per hour

Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.

Shift & Schedule

• Monday to Friday
• Flexible schedule
• No weekend shifts

Work Hours: Monday - Thursday 7 AM - 4 PM. Fridays (optional) 8 AM - 2 PM.

Days can be flexible.

Breaks: 60-minute meal break (not counted as work hours).

Overtime: Overtime available during busy seasons and paid at 1.5x the regular hourly rate.

Weekend Work: No weekend shifts required.

• License & Certification: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, Basic life support, Driver’s license, Licensed dental hygienist, X-ray / Radiography Certification, Local Anesthesia Certification

• Apply sealants, fluorides, and other preventive treatments.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment plans in our electronic health system.
• Sterilize instruments and ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
• Assist dentists during procedures and provide chairside support when required.
• Build strong patient relationships to encourage regular visits and treatment adherence.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
• Current Dental Hygienist license in the state of Tennessee.
• Certification in CPR and local anesthesia administration (preferred).
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a dental hygienist (new graduates encouraged to apply).
• Proficiency with dental software and digital imaging systems.
• Strong communication skills and a patient-focused mindset.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
