Job summary

Brident Dental & Orthodontics in Austin, TX is seeking an enthusiastic dental hygienist to join our patient-centered team. You will perform preventive hygiene procedures, educate patients on oral health, and support dentists to deliver optimal care.

You will educate on nutrition and oral hygiene, build rapport with patients, and participate in a mentorship-focused hygiene team with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • CPR/BLS certification required and active.
  • Efficient time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal communication with patients and staff.
  • Ability to travel between locations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide preventive dental hygiene services including prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, polishing, and fluoride/sealant applications.
  • Accurately chart patient histories, periodontal status, and document treatments in HIPAA-compliant systems.
  • Assist dentist as needed and support a collaborative in-office workflow.
  • Administer local anesthetics when permitted by state regulations.

Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic dental hygienist who loves building and maintaining positive relationships with patients to join our team! Our team of dental hygienists perform a variety of preventative dental procedures as well as educate patients on oral hygiene. From routine cleanings to oral health education, you'll be instrumental in helping our patients achieve and maintain their best smiles. In addition to technical duties, the dental hygienist will play an important role in teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene techniques and offer counseling regarding good nutrition and its impact on oral health.

Responsibilities
  • Provide oral hygiene services including thorough and gentle prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, polish restorations, and application of cavity preventative agents such as fluorides and sealant applications
  • Accurately chart a review of patient dental history and update as necessary, patient's periodontal health, record provided treatment, and handle patient records securely and in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Provide assistance as directed by the dentist
  • Administer local anesthetics, if allowed by dental practice act

Qualifications
  • A degree or certificate in hygiene from an accredited program and a valid state license
  • CPR/BLS Certification
