Job summary

The candidate should have an AS in Dental Hygiene, a California RDH license, and at least four years of clinical experience. The position may involve on-campus and hybrid instructional activities.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required; health-related field preferred.
• Current RDH license in California in good standing is required.
• Four years of occupational experience as an RDH is required.
• Direct, specialized knowledge in the assigned area of instruction.
• Professional competency to provide instruction, demonstration, supervision, and evaluation of students.

Responsibilities

• Organize and deliver class objectives in a clear, concise manner.
• Foster and maintain a safe classroom and lab environment.
• Prepare training aids, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain curriculum accuracy by staying current with industry standards.
• Evaluate student performance through assignments and exams.
• Provide constructive feedback and support to students.
• Identify at‑risk students and create individualized success plans.
• Develop relationships with students and stakeholders to meet competencies.
• Provide periodic reporting to stakeholders.
• Meet with students and education personnel regarding instructional programs.
• Deliver engaging lectures and lab sessions on topics and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
