Job summary

Iowa Western Community College (IA) seeks a part-time Dental Hygiene Adjunct Faculty member to provide high-quality instruction in classroom, lab, and clinical settings within the Dental Hygiene Program in Council Bluffs, IA.

You will supervise students during laboratory and clinical experiences, evaluate competencies, monitor infection control, and assist with equipment and supplies while upholding accreditation and program standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program.
• Current active Dental Hygiene license in IA and/or NE.
• Minimum of two years of recent clinical dental hygiene experience.
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and clinical partners.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during laboratory and clinical experiences to ensure safe and effective patient care.
• Evaluate student clinical competencies and ensure compliance with program standards and clinical requirements.
• Monitor infection control, safety procedures, and professional conduct within the clinical setting.
• Assist with maintenance and proper use of laboratory and clinical equipment and supplies.
