Job summary

Great Expressions is seeking a dedicated Dental Hygiene Assistant to join our dental practice in Decatur, GA. You will work closely with the dental hygienist to provide exceptional patient care and support during procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms, assisting with exams and cleanings, taking dental x-rays, sterilizing instruments, educating patients on oral hygiene, updating charts, and handling scheduling and light administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of proven experience as a Dental Hygiene Assistant or Dental Assistant.
• X-ray and CPR certification required based on state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification as a Dental Assistant is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
• Assist the dental hygienist during oral exams, teeth cleanings, and other dental procedures.
• Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dental hygienist or dentist.
• Maintain and sterilize dental instruments, equipment, and treatment areas.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide post-treatment instructions.
• Manage patient records and update dental charts accurately.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments, while ensuring a seamless patient experience.
• Perform basic administrative tasks, such as answering phones and managing patient paperwork.
