Job summary

Gentle Dental is seeking a Dental Hygiene Assistant to support offices in Thorndale, PA and West Chester, PA. The role involves assisting dental staff, preparing treatment rooms, updating patient histories, and educating patients on oral hygiene in a team-based environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate or certification in Dental Assisting preferred.
• Radiology certification (if applicable).
• CPR certification preferred but can be obtained upon hiring.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization.
• Assist Dental Hygienists during patient treatment progress.
• Update patient health history and chart treatment progress.
• Expose and develop radiographs (if certified).
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Coordinate with clinical staff to manage inventory and sterilization of dental instruments.
• Support the hygienist with patient scheduling and treatment recommendations and office recall systems.
• Perform routine tasks while ensuring compliance with HIPAA & OSHA.
