Qualifications

• DDS or DMD degree and at least five years of general dentistry experience.
• Eligible for Illinois licensure and able to obtain an unrestricted DEA license.
• Proven ability to supervise students in a clinical setting.
• Experience with CAD/CAM dentistry and lasers.
• Commitment to education and mentoring of pre-doctoral students.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with students in the patient clinic, supervising all areas of general dentistry.
• Interact positively with students and treat all students as future colleagues.
• Demonstrate dental procedures on patients to students as needed.
• Be competent treating patients in all areas of general dentistry.
• Be a positive role model for professionalism.
• Mentor students in small groups on projects or special needs, as requested by the college.
• Be willing to serve on committees within the college or university.
• Interact professionally with faculty and staff, treating all with respect and collegiality.
• Be timely in completing notes and codes in patient charts.
• Evaluate students in a timely manner.
• Meet with the Associate Dean for Clinical Sciences for reviews.
• Be competent in the use of the college’s patient digital record keeping system.
• Work with specialists mentoring the ideal relationship between general dentists and specialists.
• Be a positive influence on the MWU CDMI program.
• Be willing to calibrate college protocols as necessary in the teaching environment.
• Assume other responsibilities as needed by the clinical dean.
