Job summary

Hybrid Technologies in Orlando, FL is seeking a Lead Ceramist to own our most demanding cosmetic and restorative cases. The ideal candidate is an artist with porcelain layering expertise, especially in the anterior zone, delivering natural, lifelike restorations.

You will lead the ceramics department, mentor junior technicians, and work within a fully digital CAD/CAM workflow, integrating design with hand-layered artistry.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience as a dental ceramist with a strong focus on anterior cosmetic cases.
• High proficiency in porcelain layering techniques (cut-back and layer method).
• Experience with GC Initial porcelain systems (LiSi, Zr-FS, IQ, or related lines).
• Strong portfolio of high-end cosmetic work; ability to provide case photos.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Ceramist to join our team and take ownership of our most demanding cosmetic and restorative cases. The ideal candidate is a true artist with expertise in porcelain layering techniques, particularly in the anterior zone, and a passion for creating natural, lifelike restorations that exceed expectations. As Lead Ceramist, you will be responsible for the layering and finishing of complex cosmetic cases from veneers and anterior crowns to full arch rehabilitations. You will work closely with our digital design team and ensure every case meets the highest aesthetic and functional standards.

Responsibilities

• Porcelain layering on anterior and cosmetic cases, delivering natural translucency, characterization, and shade matching. We typically layer the facial aspect only, leaving all functional surfaces full contour.
• Custom staining, glazing, and surface texturing to achieve lifelike results
• Lead the ceramics department, setting quality standards and mentoring junior technicians
• Work within a digital workflow, integrating CAD/CAM designs with hand-layered porcelain artistry

Qualifications Required:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a dental ceramist with a strong focus on anterior cosmetic cases
• High proficiency in porcelain layering techniques (cut-back and layer method)
• Experience working with GC Initial porcelain systems (LiSi, Zr-FS, IQ, or related lines)
• Strong understanding of shade science, translucency, opalescence, and natural tooth anatomy
• Proven portfolio of high-end cosmetic work (candidates will be asked to provide case photos)
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred:

• Experience in a digital dental laboratory environment (CAD/CAM, 3D printing workflows)
• Familiarity with full arch restorative cases (implant-supported prosthetics), including layering pink gingiva porcelain
• CDT credential or equivalent certification
• Experience with photography and shade communication
