Qualifications

• Completion of a Dental Assisting program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or a Diploma is required; an associate degree in Dental Assisting is preferred but not required
• Expertise in interpersonal and verbal presentation/written communication skills
• Ability to provide effective direction and leadership and work effectively and collaboratively with others
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Dental Assistant
• Prior postsecondary teaching experience of at least 2 years
• Associate degree in the discipline or a related field as required by accrediting and licensing agency standards
• Certifications: CDA and/or RDA and
• DANB RHS

Responsibilities

• Teaches in his/her assigned discipline, works with faculty to promote continuous improvement of the quality of instruction within the assigned program(s)
• Is the lead administrator for the department and responsible for faculty training and development
• Coordinates and administers the academic program(s) and student outcomes and activities within the department
• Ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and company policies and procedures
