Job summary

CHAS Health in Spokane, WA, seeks a Dental Assistant to support providers and patients in our clinics. You will greet patients, prepare rooms, take x-rays, and assist with procedures while maintaining sterile instruments per WA DOH guidelines.

Responsibilities include chart updates, scheduling, vitals, safety protocols, and teamwork to deliver high-quality, patient-centered dental care. WA registration is required at hire; DANB preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

  • Completion of accredited dental assisting program or CHAS Health training.
  • DANB certification preferred.
  • Washington licensure (DA Registration) required at time of hire; Idaho clinics require WA licensure within 120 days.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and escort patients to the dental chair.
  • Review and update patient charts.
  • Assist dental provider with examinations, procedures, and patient education.
  • Take x-rays as needed.
  • Ensure dental exam areas are clean, stocked, and ready.
  • Sterilize, prep, and arrange instruments.
  • Answer phones and schedule patients.
  • Observe safety protocols and PPE usage.
  • Obtain vitals (BP and glucose) as indicated.
  • Support CHAS Health mission and core values.

Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) certification preferred. Clarkston and Moscow clinics may consider a minimum of 3 years' experience in lieu of accredited program completion.***Washington clinics:*** Valid Dental Assistant Registration licensure in state of Washington required at time of hire.***Idaho clinics:*** Valid Dental Assistant Registration licensure in state of Washington required within 120 days of hire.Skills: List required first and then preferred. BLS (CPR/AED) required. Valid driver's license and insurance required. Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment is required.**Physical Demands:**Must regularly move around the facility and sit, stand, and be mobile. Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and to reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to climb, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Regularly required to communicate by talking/hearing. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
