Job summary

Mammoth Hospital in Mammoth Lakes, CA seeks a per diem Dental Assistant to work chair side with the dentist and hygienist under supervision. You will set up operatory, follow asepsis protocols, and assist with nitrous oxide administration and restraint logs.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, X-ray certification (or within 6 months), BLS, and experience in a dental back office is preferred. Spanish bilingual skills are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Dental X-Ray certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required.
• California Infection Control and California Dental Practice Act Registered Provider Approved Course required within 6 months of hire.
• One year experience in a dental back office preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Job SummaryThe Dental Assistant is responsible for performing assigned duties within his/her scope of practice under the direct supervision of the dentist and the Clinic Supervisor/Manager. The Registered Dental Assistant is responsible for working chair side with the dentist, Registered Dental Hygienist. The Registered Dental Assistant must be competent in all required essential job duties and proficient in required competencies.
