Job summary

Sea Mar Community Health Centers seeks a Dental Assistant I to support dental providers in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will learn terminology, assist with instruments, perform radiographs, educate patients and document in Epic.

Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED, be enrolled in Sea Mar’s Dental Assistant Training Program, possess WA state registration and BLS/CPR certification; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. Expect Monday–Friday schedule with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Enrollment in Sea Mar Dental Assistant Training Program.
  • Current Washington State Dental Assistant Registration required.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification for adults and infants.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • May travel to other dental sites or departments as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dental providers chairside and in patient care.
  • Learn dental terminology, instruments, materials and procedures.
  • Follow infection control and sterilization protocols.
  • Take dental radiographs and maintain radiology standards.
  • Provide patient education and pre/post-treatment instructions.
  • Complete accurate charting and documentation in Epic.
  • Support scheduling, phone communication and front desk tasks.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Complete required training and competency steps for advancement to Dental Assistant I.

Key Duties:
  • Assist dental providers with chairside procedures and patient care
  • Learn dental terminology, instruments, materials, and clinical procedures

  • Take dental radiographs (X-rays) and maintain radiology standards
  • Provide patient education and pre/post-treatment instructions
  • Complete accurate charting and documentation in Epic
  • Support scheduling, phone communication, and front desk functions as needed
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
  • Complete all required training and competency requirements for advancement to Dental Assistant I

Starting Wage: $21.30 per hour

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (Can be edited based on need) Hourly - Hourly Plan, 21.30 USD Hourly
