UTMB Health in Texas seeks a dental assistant to support the dental clinic within a secure facility. You will perform patient care, radiography, dental laboratory tasks, and inmate health education under supervision.
Responsibilities include maintaining clinic order, sterilization, inventory, scheduling, data entry, and administrative support. A current dental assistant registration and CPR certification are required; security clearance and pre-employment drug testing may apply.
The mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD).
Performs direct and indirect patient care procedures as well as general clinical and support asks, as specifically delegated or directed by the supervising dentist.
Standard office equipment and standard dental clinic equipment.
Located within the confines of a prison, jail or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.
May be required to provide dental assistance at multiple facilities.
Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience.
