Our office is a family owned private dental practice run by father and son. We pride ourselves with treating patients ethically and with the utmost respect. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our patient oriented dental practice. This role involves assisting with various dental procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a safe and hygienic environment in compliance with infection control standards. Cross training with front desk duties prefered or can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
• Maintain accurate medical records and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up calls for patient visits.
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff.
• Utilize dental terminology effectively when communicating with patients and team members.
• Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring a comfortable experience for younger patients.
• Familiarize yourself with electronic health record systems such as Dentrix for efficient documentation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of general dentistry practices, dental terminology, and infection control procedures is essential.
• Familiarity with medical records management and HIPAA compliance is required.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain accurate patient records.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
• Certification in dental assisting or completion of an accredited dental assistant program is a plus.
