Job summary

Indian Health Service is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the delivery of safe and effective dental services within communities served. You will assist dentists across restorative and surgical procedures, maintain sterile technique, and help manage patient records and supplies.

Successful candidates will have experience in dental assisting, radiography, and patient education, and must comply with federal employment requirements.

Qualifications

• Specialized Experience: dental assistant work or expanded functions.
• Education and Training: dental assistant program or dental hygiene program including relevant courses.
• Minimum qualifications: GS-02/GS-03/GS-04 criteria with experience or education.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist in restorative and surgical procedures.
• Maintain aseptic technique and sterilize instruments.
• Expose and process dental radiographs following safety protocols.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Support dental clinic operations, maintain supplies, and manage patient records.
