Job summary

PCHC’s Dental Center is seeking an experienced per-diem Dental Assistant to join our team on a flexible, per-diem basis. You’ll work across multiple PCHC dental locations, providing chairside support and high-quality patient care.

Travel to Bangor School Clinics or Seaport Dental Center in Belfast may be required. Requirements include experience as a Dental Assistant, a high school diploma or GED, and a radiology license (or ability to obtain within 6 months).

Qualifications

• Must have experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Schedule: Per-Diem, Flexible Schedule (Depending on final candidate’s availability and clinic needs)
• Travel: Occasional travel to Bangor School Clinics and/or Seaport Dental Center in Belfast for coverage.

Responsibilities

• Chairside assistance for dentists during procedures.
• Provide high-quality patient care and create a positive patient experience.
• Take and develop radiographs; perform other allowed clinical duties (e.g., suture removal).

Highlights of the Position:

• Chairside Assistance: Provide efficient chairside support to dentists during a variety of procedures.
• Patient Care: Provide high-quality, compassionate care and help create a positive patient experience.
• Clinical Support: Take and develop radiographs and perform other permitted clinical duties, including suture removal and temporary fillings when appropriate.
• Infection Control & Safety: Follow all safety, sterilization, and infection control requirements, including OSHA standards.
• Clinic Readiness: Maintain clean, stocked, and prepared operatories and help maintain dental equipment.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with providers and clinic staff to support patient care, scheduling, and accurate record keeping.
• Flexible Coverage: Provide coverage across PCHC dental locations as needed, adapting to different teams, schedules, and clinic environments.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience as a Dental Assistant required.
• Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program or completion of a DA prep course/certificate preferred.
• Radiology license required, or must obtain within 6 months of employment.
