Job summary

Sipes Dental in Alaska is seeking a full-time dental assistant to join our busy practice. You will provide patient care, take x-rays, record treatment details, and assist the Dentist during exams while maintaining a friendly, professional team environment.

We offer training for the right candidate, a Monday through Thursday schedule, competitive salary, PTO, health insurance and dental benefits. X-ray certification is required; one to two years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• X-ray certification is required.
• 1–2 years of dental assistant experience preferred.
• We will train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior patient care and hospitality with chair-side manner.
• Record treatment information in patient records.
• Take dental diagnostic x-rays.
• Assist Dentist with instruments and materials during exams and procedures.
• Follow OSHA hazard control protocols.
• Represent the practice professionally and cooperatively.
• Maintain regular attendance and adhere to schedule.
• Work independently and in a team.
• Assist with dental and medical emergencies as needed.
• Maintain CPR certification.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control.
• Prepare preliminary impressions for study casts.
• Clean and polish removable appliances.
• Record medical and dental histories.
• Other duties as assigned.
