Job summary

The Smilist in Jackson, NJ is seeking a reliable Dental Assistant to join our growing team. You will assist doctors, prepare patients, maintain sterile environments, and contribute to exceptional patient care in a warm, professional setting.

The role is full-time, Monday–Friday with every other Saturday, paying $24–$28 per hour. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered along with health, dental, and vision insurance. NJ x-ray license required; Dentrix experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Active NJ x-ray license.
• Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, procedures, and infection control protocols.
• Dentrix experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively with doctors and other team members in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Positive attitude, dependability, and willingness to learn and grow professionally.

Responsibilities

• Help patients feel comfortable and confident during visits by addressing concerns and reinforcing trust in the doctor or hygienist.
• Prepare patients for treatment and assist doctors during procedures to ensure high-quality care.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile clinical environment for patient safety.
• Escort patients to and from the front desk and help ensure a smooth, positive patient experience.
• Prepare and organize instrument trays and treatment rooms for scheduled procedures.
• Monitor operatory supplies, maintain inventory, and assist with ordering/restocking as needed.
• Follow infection control, sterilization, and office safety protocols.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
