Job summary

Adventist Health Reedley is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our AHMO Sanger team. You will support the dentist, prepare materials and equipment, and help expose and mount dental radiographs as part of patient care.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED with preferred associate degree, CPR/BLS certification, and completion of California Dental Practice Act and infection control training. This per diem position offers exposure to a variety of clinic settings and a focus on patient

• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Proof of completion after 120 days of continuous employment: A board-approved course in the Dental Practice Act (California) and a board-approved 8-hour course in infection control: Required

Responsibilities

• Sterilizes and disinfects instruments and equipment. Prepares treatment rooms, instruments and tray setups for dental procedures.
• Greets and prepares patients for treatment.
• Exposes, develops and mounts dental radiographs. Assists the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures.
• Conducts work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety and OSHA guidelines.
• Participates in the achievement of patient satisfaction and office production goals. Provides patient education materials. Maintains an appropriate office environment.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Proof of completion after 120 days of continuous employment: A board-approved course in the Dental Practice Act (California) and a board-approved 8-hour course in infection control: Required

Licenses/Certifications

• Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in state of practice: Preferred
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Facility Specific License/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
