Qualifications

• High School Diploma required and graduate of a state approved Dental Assistant School.
• Six months experience in a dentist's office or completion of a training course in dental assistance.
• CPR certification preferred; EDDA certification within one year is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist during examinations and procedures as permitted by the Louisiana State Board of Dentistry.
• Take and record vital signs: pulse, blood pressure, and temperature; document patient information.
• Prepare and arrange instruments and materials; sterilize instruments and manage the treatment area.
• Take radiographs as prescribed and ensure proper safety and record-keeping.
• Assist with patient education and post-treatment instructions for all ages.
• Maintain infection control and supply inventories; communicate with receptionist and dental team.
