Job summary

Desort is seeking a Dental Assistant in Moore, OK to support the dentist in delivering quality patient care. You will prepare patients and treatment areas, assist chairside during procedures, and help maintain instruments and equipment for efficient patient flow.

The role may involve supporting various dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and oral surgery. A high school diploma or GED and a dental assisting program are required, along with CPR and X-ray

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a dental assisting program or at least 1 year of dental assisting experience.
• Current dental assisting permit required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Current X-ray certification required for chairside duties.
• Basic computer skills; dental software experience preferred.
• Knowledge of sterilization, infection control, and dental procedures.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during a variety of orthodontic procedures.
• Prepare and set up treatment rooms and equipment.
• Prepare patients for orthodontic treatment.
• Assist with brackets, bands, wires, aligners, and other orthodontic appliances.
• Take dental impressions, digital scans, radiographs, and orthodontic records as directed.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain proper infection control procedures.
• Provide patients with instructions regarding oral hygiene, braces, aligners, and appliance care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Coordinate and track orthodontic lab cases and appliances.
• Support efficient patient flow and clinical operations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, orthodontists, and other team members.
• Maintain a positive and professional patient experience.
