Qualifications

  • Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
  • 1 year on-the-job dental assisting experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; OSHA, HIPAA, CPR training required.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
  • Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and scheduling/patient intake.
  • Emergency readiness: Assist with emergencies, maintain CPR certification and supplies.

Education

One-year certified dental assistant program
High school diploma or equivalent
