Job summary

NorthShore Health Centers in Lake Station, IN seeks a Dental Assistant II to support dentists and hygienists in primary care. You will perform patient intakes, expose and process x-rays, sterilize instruments, and prepare operatories, while managing inventory and supplies.

The role requires BLS certification within 2 weeks of hire and Indiana Dental Radiographer License, with frequent travel to NorthShore locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, Transcripts, or Equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 2 weeks of hire.
• Dental Radiographer License in the State of Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient inquiries, receive and seat patients, and prepare for exam/procedure.
• Escort patients from office to procedure room and document services rendered.
• Record treatment information in electronic health records.
• Arrange equipment, pre-tray setups, dental materials and supplies.
• Assist during dental procedures by transferring instruments and retracting.
• Perform basic lab tasks such as pouring impressions and sterilizing instruments.
• Assist Lead Dental Assistant with inventory, stocking, and supplies control.
• Communicate with patients in a positive manner to support patient care.
