Job summary

Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry is seeking a Dental Assistant to support hygienists, coordinate treatment plans, and manage patient flow. You will schedule appointments, maintain instruments, and assist during procedures while ensuring accurate health histories and efficient sterilization.

Ideal candidates have DA training with CDA or radiology equivalency, 2–5 years of experience, CPR certification, and strong teamwork and communication skills. We value reliability and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • DA Training or equivalent required; CDA certification or radiology equivalency preferred.
  • 2-5 years Dental Assistant experience preferred.
  • CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to present treatment plans and insurance information clearly to patients.
  • Knowledge of common dental software a plus.
  • Excellent attendance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Assist hygienist in providing dental treatment.
  • Serve as treatment coordinator; prepare and present treatment plans to patients.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage potential scheduling obstacles.
  • Maintain dental instruments, supplies and equipment.
  • Record patient health histories and manage patient interactions during procedures.
  • Assist with post-op sanitization and instrument sterilization.
  • Prepare dental materials and equipment for scheduled treatments.
  • Manage inventory and perform ancillary duties.

Requirements

Dental Assistant Essential Requirements

  • DA Training or equivalent
  • Preferred 2-5 years of Dental Assistant experience
  • Achieved CDA certification, or completed radiological equivalency exam through NC State Board of Dental Examiners, or completed CODA-accredited dental assisting program
  • CPR certified, or will become CPR certified within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to professionally present clinical information regarding treatment plans and insurance information to patients
  • Knowledge of Eaglesoft and/or Denticon software a plus
  • Regular and timely attendance
  • Ability to demonstrate independent thinking and exercise good judgment ability to formulate, affect, interpret, and/or implement operating practices
  • Ability to demonstrate a teamwork approach to job responsibilities
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, dependability and promptness
  • Must perform frequent repetitive work with attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to be flexible and accept different work assignments within the practice, including traveling to other locations, with a positive approach
  • Ability to follow instructions and takes responsibility for own actions
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality with Patients and patient care
  • Must listen attentively for clarification to ensure necessary outcomes
Language and Reasoning Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and written correspondence
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
