Job summary

Greenlee Dental Center in Raleigh, NC is seeking a skilled Dental Assistant II to join our patient-centered team. You will assist dentists during exams and procedures, prepare and sterilize instruments, take and develop radiographs, and help manage patient records and appointments with Eaglesoft.

The ideal candidate has current NC DA II certification, 1–2 years of DA II experience, strong communication, and a solid understanding of four-handed dentistry.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina Dental Assistant II certification required.
• 1–2 years of DA II experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Eaglesoft is a plus.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology and four-handed dentistry techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a wide variety of examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to safety protocols.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment schedules using our dental software.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Perform basic laboratory tasks as needed, including taking impressions and preparing materials.
• Monitor patient vital signs and provide support during procedures.
• Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after procedures.

Summary

In this role, you will play a vital part in assisting our dental professionals while ensuring the highest level of patient care and support. This position is essential for maintaining the smooth operation of our dental practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist our dentists during a wide variety of examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment schedules using our dental software.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Perform basic laboratory tasks as needed, including taking impressions and preparing materials.

Requirements

• Current Dental Assistant II certification in North Carolina.
• 1-2 years of working as a true DA II experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with dental software such as Eaglesoft is a plus.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology and four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Performing and assisting the dentist with crowns, extractions, root canals, bridges, applying sealants, taking impressions, extra-oral adjustments, cementing temporary restorations, post-operative care, and more.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
