Job Description for Dental Assistant at Gastonia Family Dentistry

Responsibilities

1. Chairside Assistance: Support the dentist during procedures, manage instruments, suction, and ensure patient comfort.
2. Patient Care: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain cleanliness.
3. X-Ray Imaging: Capture dental X-rays following safety protocols.
4. Patient Education: Guide patients on oral hygiene, post-op care, and treatment options.
5. Records Management: Update patient records and dental charts accurately in EHR systems.
6. Infection Control: Follow sterilization and disinfection protocols strictly.
7. Appointment Scheduling: Assist in managing and confirming patient appointments.
8. Collaboration: Work closely with the dental team to ensure smooth patient flow and support.

Qualifications

1. Current CPR Certification
2. Coronal Polishing Certification
3. CEREC (milling & crown) Training
4. ITER0 training
5. X-ray certification
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
7. Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
8. Proficiency in dental procedures and instrument handling
9. Thorough understanding of infection control protocols and OSHA standards
10. Compassionate approach to patient care and comfort

Salary Range

$21-$24 per hour
