Job summary

Columbia Basin Health Association in Connell, WA is hiring a Dental Assistant I to support dentists and hygienists, prep operatory, manage supplies, and educate patients. This on-site role offers hands-on patient care and collaboration with a dedicated team.

You will assist with sterilization, charting, x-rays, and patient instructions while maintaining safety and confidentiality within CBHA clinics.

Qualifications

Basic level of written and verbal communication, computer and mathematical skill and knowledge typically acquired through completion of a high school program.
Ability to assess dental problems quickly and accurately.
Must have working knowledge of hygiene/sterilization techniques.

Responsibilities

Prepare operatory and equipment before seating patients.
Greet and seat patients utilizing AIDET model.
Review health history and document vital signs.
Ensure pre-exam documentation including waivers and treatment consents are completed.
Take vital signs and x-rays as directed by provider.
Chart and document existing dental restorations and procedures as directed.
Prepare and pass instruments and materials during patient care.
Administer and monitor Nitrous Oxide; provide prophylaxis, fluoride and sealants as prescribed.
Take and pour alginate impressions and trim models.
Provide oral hygiene, post-op and referral instructions.
Break down operatory and disinfect/ reset per protocols.
Maintain logs and ensure daily closing duties and checklists.
