Founded in 1978, Sea Mar is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) committed to providing comprehensive health, human, housing, educational, and cultural services to diverse communities, with a focus on Latinos in Washington State. Position: Dental Assistant I, II, or III - Posting #27498

Hourly Range: $22.34 - $24.28

Position Summary

We are seeking an on-call Dental Assistant for our Vancouver - East Dental Clinic. The candidate will assist dental providers in procedures permitted by the WA State Dental Practice Act, including Restorative, Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery, and others as allowed by law.

Major Duties
  • Maintain records for MSDS, spore tests, and dental supplies inventory.
  • Assist in training new Dental Assistants.
  • Organize schedules and checklists for dental procedures.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish or Russian are highly preferred.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Valid WA State license, BLS certification, organizational skills, dental record experience, and computer familiarity.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills in English; ability to interpret dental-related written material.
  • Preferred bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Russian.
  • Preferred ortho experience.
Additional Requirements by Level
  • Dental Assistant II: Completion of a formal Dental Assistant program; minimum 6 months of work experience. No formal training requires at least 18 months of experience.
  • Dental Assistant III: Knowledge of sterilization, OSHA regulations, radiograph mounting, temporary restorations, impressions, model trimming, retraction cords, matrix bands, polishing, and fluoride treatments. At least 2 years of experience; 3 years without formal training.
