Job summary

Zakiortho is seeking a dental assistant to join our Virginia Beach practice. You will greet patients, assist during visits, capture radiographs and impressions, and keep treatment rooms ready and sterile. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, teamwork with doctors and staff, and accurate charting.

Qualified candidates hold an active dental assistant license/registration and have 6+ months of experience; CPR/BLS certification is required. CODA-accredited training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active license/registration to practice as a dental assistant, as required by your state.
• 6+ months of experience as a dental assistant.
• CPR or BLS certification.
• Completion of a CODA accredited dental assisting program (preferred).
• Quick learner with strong problem solving skills.
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Comfortable with software used for charting, records, and scheduling.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized with strong knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology.

Responsibilities

• Greet and support patients before, during, and after their appointment.
• Take and process dental radiographs, impressions, and intraoral photos.
• Prepare and sterilize the treatment room and equipment.
• Document dental care services by charting patient records.
• Maintain a clean, sterile, patient centered working environment.
