Job summary

Baystate Dental in Sturbridge, Massachusetts is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the clinical team and provide high-quality patient care in a team-based environment. Candidates must have prior dental assisting experience.

Full-time position with 8am–5pm, Monday–Friday, competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits. The role includes preparing treatment rooms, assisting dentists, radiography, patient education, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• X-Ray certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations..
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Education
