Job summary

Community Health Center of Buffalo Inc. seeks a Dental Assistant - Float to join our dental team across Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Lockport and Lackawanna, NY.

You will assist with four-handed dentistry, seat and dismiss patients, and maintain operatory cleanliness while supporting the dentist. Requirements include a high school diploma and prior dental office experience; NYS Registered Dental Assistant certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in a dental office.
• NY State Registered Dental Assistant certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Seat and dismiss patients, maintain cleanliness in the operatory and dental laboratory.
• Sterilize dental instruments, process radiographs.
• Manage dental supplies inventory, conduct laboratory duties, and handle clerical tasks.
• Utilize computerized systems for patient registration and other administrative processes.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance, such as changing suction machine filters.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Dental Assistant - Float to join our team. The Dental Assistant - Float will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to patients in compliance with regulatory guidelines. This position involves collaborating closely with the dentist, engaging in four-handed dentistry tasks, managing patient seating and dismissals, sterilizing instruments, taking x-rays, overseeing inventory, handling basic equipment maintenance, and fulfilling various clerical duties. A key aspect of this role is maintaining a professional and supportive attitude towards patients while actively participating in staff meetings.

This position requires flexibility to work at different locations (Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Lockport and Lackawanna, NY) within our dental practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience working in a dental office
• Certification as a registered dental assistant in New York State is preferred

Salary Range

• Registered Dental Assistant: $20.87 - $28.47 per hour
• Dental Assistant without certification: $18.68 - $22.32 per hour
