Job summary

Aspen Dental is hiring a Dental Assistant in New Bern, NC. You will assist during treatments, take dental x-rays, and help prepare and sterilize equipment. You’ll support patient flow, educate patients on oral hygiene, and ensure high-quality impressions and digital scans are completed.

The role involves collaboration with the practice team to provide excellent patient care, with a strong emphasis on ongoing learning and patient-centered service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Active license/permit as required by state; X-ray certification if required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Assist during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Take dental x-rays.
• Set up and breakdown operatory post treatment.
• Execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow within the practice.
• Manage infection control – prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain good oral health.
• Complete dentures soft relines and manufacture temporary crowns.
• Perform quality impressions and bite registrations.
• Perform digital intraoral scans.
• Support patient charting for doctors.
• Collaborate with practice team to ensure optimum patient satisfaction.
