Job summary

Aspen Dental hires an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant in Hiram, GA, to support dentists in a busy practice and ensure smooth patient flow. You will perform chairside duties, sterilization, radiographs, and patient education while adhering to safety standards.

You will also handle clerical tasks, assist with training staff, and engage in ongoing CE requirements to maintain expanded-function credentials as allowed by state.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • Proficient chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry.
  • Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state.
  • Current CPR or BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with directing the DA office team to maintain productive patient flow.
  • Assist doctors during treatment procedures.
  • Breakdown operatory rooms after procedures.
  • Complete sterilization for equipment and operatory; train staff on processes.
  • Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines, autoclave, and compressors.
  • Set up trays and operatories for procedures; support charting for doctors.
  • Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow.
  • Take dental radiographs (X-rays) and provide post-procedure care instructions.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Complete denture relines and fabricate temporary crowns as needed.
  • Monitor and aid in management of laboratory cases; perform health scans where applicable.
  • Take quality impressions and bite registrations; participate in expanded functions when certified.
  • Maintain emergency kits and oxygen as required; order and manage supplies.
