Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Corrections seeks a Dental Assistant to support dental operations at SCI Huntingdon. You will assist the dentist, prepare workspaces, and help manage patient records in a state facility.

This full-time position runs 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. The position offers a starting salary of $36,831, with potential increases per the applicable collective bargaining agreement. A RHS exam and CJIS requirements apply.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a dental office or clinic; or
• Successful completion of an accredited Dental Assisting certificate program.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside support to the dentist
• Prepare and sterilize tools and materials
• Expose, label, mount, and evaluate radiographs
• Take impressions, pour models, trim casts and assess accuracy
• File, retrieve, and maintain dental records and reports
• Provide clear preventative care and post-procedural instructions to patients
