Job summary

Heart of Florida Health Center MAIN - Ocala, FL is seeking an entry-level Dental Assistant to perform delegable clinical duties, screen and prepare patients, assist hygienists and dentists, and educate patients, while upholding HIPAA, CDC, and OSHA standards.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, EFDA training including radiology, a current BLS certification, and a Florida driver's license; bilingual (Spanish) is a plus. Travel to other HFHC locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and EFDA training with radiology.
• Current BLS certification required; nitrous oxide preferred.
• Effective communication and ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Chairside dental assisting as per Florida statutes and rules.
• Operate and maintain dental X-ray equipment per dentist's guidance.
• Educate patients; obtain signatures for consent and treatment plans.
• Assist with 4-handed dentistry and instrument handling.
• Record medical/dental history, vitals, and charting in the EHR.
• Schedule patients and perform follow-up calls; travel to other HFHC sites as needed.
