Job summary

Stride Dental Group is seeking an entry-level Dental Assistant to join our team in Florida. No prior dental experience is required, and training is provided to support your growth from assisting the hygiene team to expanded clinical duties as you progress.

You will work closely with hygienists, sterilize instruments, and help maintain efficient, patient-friendly appointments while learning through on-the-job training and mentorship.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • No prior dental experience necessary, training provided.
  • X-ray certification a plus but not required (can be obtained during employment).
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
  • Comfortable working closely with patients in a clinical setting.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks (lifting, bending, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Assisting hygienists chairside during cleanings and periodontal procedures.
  • Setting up and breaking down treatment rooms between patients.
  • Sterilizing and maintaining dental instruments according to infection control protocols.
  • Stocking and organizing operatory supplies and sterilization areas.
  • Taking and processing dental x-rays (training provided if not certified).
  • Escorting patients to and from treatment rooms and ensuring a comfortable experience.
  • Maintaining accurate patient charting and documentation.
  • Following all OSHA and infection control guidelines.
  • Supporting front office and clinical team as needed to keep the schedule running smoothly.

This role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and interested in building a long-term career in dental healthcare. You will start by supporting our hygiene team and sterilization processes, with opportunities to grow into expanded clinical responsibilities as you complete training.

Responsibilities include:

Assisting hygienists chairside during cleanings and periodontal procedures

  • Setting up and breaking down treatment rooms between patients
  • Sterilizing and maintaining dental instruments according to infection control protocols

This role is designed as an entry point into a full clinical career path. With strong performance, DAs can grow into Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), Lead Dental Assistant, cross-trained hygiene support specialties (implants, ortho, oral surgery assisting), and may receive support toward dental hygiene or dental assisting certification programs.
