Job Description

The Endodontist Assistant is responsible for assisting the dentist in clinical and administrative duties, including preparing patients for procedures, sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting during dental procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor with all dental procedures, including taking directions, anticipating needs, performing oral evaluations, taking, developing, and mounting X-rays, and various laboratory duties.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and adhere to safety procedures required by OSHA and practice standards.
• Prepare patients for treatment and keep patients comfortable throughout visits.
• Perform administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, charting, and filing.
• Prepare patient charts, record treatment plans, and update dental records.
• Prepare, organize, and sterilize instruments, materials, and equipment following infection control and biohazard protocols.
• Provide patients with oral health care information and instructions as directed by the doctor.
• Ensure instruments and equipment are properly maintained.
• Provide excellent patient care at all times.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of endodontics experience.
• Dental assistant certification where required.
• X-ray/radiography certification.
• Nitrous oxide certification preferred.
• Annual OSHA, HIPAA, BLS, and infection control training maintained as required by law.
• Experience with relevant dental software.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
