Job summary

Silver Spring Dental Studio in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a Dental Assistant (Expanded Function) to support doctors during a range of dental procedures. The role includes room setup, sterilization, radiography, lab tasks, patient check-in, and post-procedure guidance.

A compassionate, reliable team player with EFDA/X-ray credentials is preferred. The position offers a full-time schedule Monday-Thursday 7:45am-5:15pm and Friday 7:45am-2:15pm with guaranteed hourly pay and benefits after 30+

• 2-4 years dental assisting experience preferred.
• MSBDE General Duties EFDA certification Maryland X-Ray License, DANB Radiology Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments and ready equipment.
• Assist dentists during procedures, hand instruments as needed.
• Take and process patient X-rays.
• Perform lab tasks as instructed.
• Greet patients and schedule appointments; manage payments.
• Advise patients on oral hygiene and post-op care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payments.

Location: Silver Spring Dental Studio General Duties Expanded Function Dental Assistant Silver Spring Dental Studio (Silver Spring, MD) Salary Range: $28.00 - $30.00 Hourly

The Dental Assistant “assists” our Dentist during a variety of dental procedures. Whether you are an experienced Dental Assistant, or you are motivated to learn more about the dental industry we would like to tell you more.

Schedule (Full Time): Monday - Thursday 7:45am - 5:15pm, Friday 7:45am - 2:15pm

Dental Assisting Job Responsibilities:

• Preparing exam rooms, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring necessary equipment is ready for dentists
• Knowledge of general anatomy of the mouth and dental terms
• Understanding of crowns, fillings, extractions, root canals and implants
• Assisting dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating needs
• Taking and processing X-rays of patients
• Perform lab tasks as instructed
• Greeting patients as they arrive and scheduling appointments
• Advising patients on recommended oral hygiene
• Maintaining accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
• Strong communications skills required to deliver oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
• Handling general administrative and other duties to maintain the dental practice

Qualifications:

• 2 - 4 years of Dental Assisting experience preferred
• MSBDE General Duties EFDA certification Maryland X-Ray License, DANB Radiology Certificate Required
• Outstanding professionalism, high moral standards, and a self-motivated work ethic
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with your co-workers and patients
