Job Details: Job Location: 706 Main St - Livingston, CA, Salary Range: $19.00 - $26.00Hourly, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Dental, Under direct and indirect supervision, the Dental Assistant (DA) will assist the Dentist and Registered Dental Assistants (RDA) in both administrative and clinical duties.

Assistants (RDA) in both administrative and clinical duties. As a credentialed professional, the DA must act only within the scope of their licensure. In addition to clinical support for the Dentist, this individual is responsible for helping the Dentist in creating the ideal treatment plan and educating the patient on the best options for their dental health. The DA will provide patient support services; including, but not limited to, personal assistance, medical attention, and emotional support. The DA must live by and implement the company core values to achieve our company mission. This position has a performance-based incentive.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Standing 80%.
  • Sitting 20%.
  • Moderate noise levels from dental and other lab equipment.
  • Dental, office, and lab setting.
  • Minimum moving requirements of 35 pounds to transfer equipment and pack and unpack supplies.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, and position changes to examine and service patients.
  • Exceptional hand eye coordination and control to use dental implements for exams, to provide dentist assistance, and mixing and/or placing materials on dental tools, products, and in mouths.
  • Potential occupational exposure to trace amounts of nitrous oxide and/or x-rays.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Adhere to strict safety guidelines and procedures to OSHA and office standards. Using and maintaining hazard control protocols as established by OSHA and office standards.
  • Follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocol.
  • Always maintain the highest level of confidentiality to HIPAA standards.*
  • Perform all duties allowed under the California Dental Board regulations for dental assistants.
  • Follow company guidelines regarding the ideal treatment plan to provide patients with a comprehensive diagnosis.
  • Ensure treatment consent is obtained and electronically signed forms are on file, prior to treatment being rendered, including medical releases.
  • Escort patients to workstations and answer any general questions or forward patient questions or concerns to the dentist when necessary.
  • Timely prepare treatment area by sterilizing, positioning, and delivering instruments for dentist’s access.
  • Timely lab and case management.
  • Actively provide hand instruments and materials as needed to Dentist or Registered Dental Assistant during exams and procedures to help maintain patient comfort and efficiency.
  • Work with the doctor to build up patient trust.
  • Travelling between Suave Dental locations is required, when needed.
  • Other duties and tasks, as assigned periodically.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings.
  • Must be able to handle multiple deadlines and task assignments comfortably and efficiently.
  • Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedule and office policies.
  • Must be detail-oriented to work efficiently in small spaces and maintain patient comfort.
  • Must be flexible and understand that job duties may change from time to time and that this individual may be asked to assist in other areas of the office.
  • Must excel in forward thinking to anticipate the needs of the doctor as well as the patient.
  • Must demonstrate active listening by giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Must demonstrate good reading comprehension by understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills by talking to others to convey Information effectively.
  • Frequent client and interoffice personnel interaction as this position is chair‑side to the dentist and heavily dependent on excellent customer interaction.
  • Must be comfortable seeing and able to maintain a professional demeanor and attitude while working around blood and unpleasant smells.
  • Near Vision—the ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) as required for mixing and placing materials on tools and in mouths.
  • Must follow the dress policies listed in our handbook.
  • Must always represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED certificate.

  • Preferred diploma or certificate from an approved dental assisting program as accredited by CODA.
  • Preferred one year of dental practice experience.
  • Infection control certification.
  • Current Xray license required.
