Job summary
Family Dental Care of Smyrna is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team in Smyrna, TN. You will greet patients, review health history, take X-rays, and provide chairside assistance while following safety and HIPAA requirements.
Experience with Dentrix and a completion of dental assisting or x-ray certification is preferred; strong communication and organization are essential. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, paid holidays, and PTO.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
- Experience in fast-paced, customer-centric environments.
- Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification if required by state.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- HIPAA training and PHI protection required.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients and educate during treatment.
- Review patient health history to ensure quality care.
- Take and process x-rays and diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
- Provide chairside assistance during procedures.
- Use Dentrix for scheduling and records.
- Prepare treatment room following safety protocols.
- Manage supply and inventory and place orders.
- Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems.
